Can Tourists Drink Alcohol and Smoke in Dubai? 

The Dubai authorities permit residents and tourists alike to buy and drink in licensed places only like bars, hotels, clubs, resorts, and restaurants. Buying alcohol from unauthorized venues can attract a huge penalty. Though you are not allowed to smoke at Dubai Airport, you might find a smoking area in each place or beside the entrance doors (these locations are considered safe for smoking).

You can smoke and drink in your car. But smoking in private cars where a child under the age of 12 is present is punishable under the law. So, be careful of these rules during your stay in Dubai.

How Old Do You Have To Be To Smoke In Dubai?

There is no minimum age limit to smoke cigarettes in Dubai. However, you will not be allowed to purchase any tobacco products anywhere in Dubai if you are below the age of 18. Concerning the Federal Law No.15 of 2009 regarding Tobacco Control, the sale of tobacco products to people under 18 is forbidden and punishable under the law.

Can Those Under Age Of 18 Go To Shisha Cafe?

If you are below the age of 18, you are not permitted to go to any cafe that offers shisha and that applies both to women and men. Federal Law No.15 of 2009 about Tobacco Control forbids and criminalizes the entry of those under 18 into shisha cafes regardless of their intent.

Can You Smoke E-cigs In Dubai?

You can smoke E-cigs because it’s regarded as a normal cigarette. However, you are only allowed to smoke e-cigs in legally specified areas. If you are caught using an e-cigarette in unauthorized places in Dubai, you will be slammed with a fine of up to Dh2,000.
